Join AdelanteND and the ND Staff of International Descent for Día de Muertos at the Institute for Latino Studies.
Assistant Professor Jenny Padilla will speak on the holiday itself, after which we will enjoy food and mingle at the altares. At 11:45, artist Cybil will walk guests through her exhibit in the ILS hallway and speak about her work informally with guests.
Dia de los Muertos is a day of celebration for people in Latin America, particularly in Mexico and Central America, as well as Mexican-Americans and other Latinx groups in the US. Ofrendas (altars) honor the departed. Altars will be prepared by Notre Dame students and staff and faculty members of AdelanteND, ILS, and NDSID.
Tamales, pan de muerto, hot chocolate, and coffee will be served.
Please set a date/time with eserafin@nd.edu to come with a photo and any items for the altar between 10/23 and 10/31. You can bring a framed photo of an ancestor or person you admire who passed away.

Adelante y el Personal de Descendencia Internacional de Notre Dame los invita a celebrar el Día de Muertos el 02 de noviembre entre las 11 y 12 en el Institute de Estudios Latinos, Bond Hall. Tendremos tamales, pan de muertos, chocolate caliente, café, y altares. Todos son bienvenidos a dejar fotos y decoraciones para los altares.
